If you're a lover of the arts, you’re going to want to check out the brand-new Gulfshore Playhouse Baker Theatre and Education Center. After calling the Norris Center home since 2004, Gulfshore Playhouse officially opened its doors to a gleaming new $72 million venue that’s bringing serious Broadway vibes to downtown Naples.
Bigger, Bolder, Better
The new Playhouse, which is located at the gateway of downtown at the corner of First Avenue South and Goodlette-Frank Road, clocks in at an impressive 40,000 square feet, and it’s packed with features that’ll wow both theater newbies and long-time patrons. At the heart of it all is the Moran Mainstage, a Broadway-sized stage with 368 seats, giving the Playhouse the freedom to take on larger productions, full-scale musicals, and all the magic that comes with them.
There’s also the Struthers Studio Theater, a 125-seat black box space that’s endlessly flexible—perfect for intimate shows, experimental pieces, or brand-new plays making their debut.
Not Just for the Pros
What makes this space extra special is how much it’s giving back to the community. The brand-new education wing is a game-changer, offering everything from after-school programs for kids to professional training for adults. Whether you’re dreaming of the stage or just looking to try something new, there’s a place for you here.
Behind the Curtain
This place is more than just what happens on stage. With 25,000 square feet of shop space, a dedicated musicians’ room, and top-notch acoustics and tech, the Playhouse is fully equipped to support productions from idea to standing ovation.
There’s also Struthers Hall, a multi-use space for events, galas, and community gatherings—because let’s be honest, Naples loves a good party.
A Vibe All Its Own
And the design? Modern, sleek, and totally in step with the feel of downtown Naples. Picture this: You grab a drink at the lobby bar, chat in the lounge, then head upstairs to the rooftop terrace for some fresh air and great views before curtain call. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
What’s Next?
Founder, CEO, and Producing Artistic Director Kristin Coury isn’t playing small. The vision includes bringing pre-Broadway productions to Naples and building partnerships with Broadway producers. Yep, Naples is stepping into the national spotlight, and this new venue is just the beginning.
