From Family Recipes to Franchise Success: The Rosati’s Pizza Story

Rosati's Pizza

For over 55 years, Rosati’s Pizza has been serving up delicious Chicago-style pizza and traditional Italian dishes. The story started back in 1895 when Ferdinand Rosati, an Italian immigrant, opened a pizzeria in Coney Island. His love for food and passion for fresh ingredients set the stage for the family's legacy.

After moving to Chicago in 1906, Ferdinand expanded his restaurant and created a popular spot for locals. By 1927, his son Saverio continued the family tradition, opening another restaurant in Chicago. This marked the beginning of Rosati’s rise to fame, attracting both everyday customers and even notorious figures like Al Capone.

In 1964, the Rosati brothers—Dick, Ron, and Al—decided to open a pizzeria in Mount Prospect, Illinois, expanding the family’s reach to the suburbs. Pizza was becoming a trend, and the brothers embraced it, continuing to use the same authentic recipes passed down through generations.

By 1978, the family took things a step further by franchising Rosati’s Pizzerias, and their business quickly grew. Today, nearly 200 locations are spread across the country, and the family’s dedication to great food and quality ingredients remains unchanged.

What makes Rosati’s so special is its commitment to authenticity. The recipes have stayed the same over the years, and the fresh ingredients are sourced from trusted farms. The classic Chicago-style pizza and hearty Italian dishes are made with the same love and care Ferdinand put into his first pizzeria.

Whether you're ordering a pizza for dinner or picking up pasta for the family, Rosati’s offers a comforting and satisfying meal for all occasions. Each dish is a piece of family history, prepared just as it was over a century ago.
